Language requirements
A B1 level of Italian assessed through an official certification is required when exchange students apply, since almost all the degree programs of the School of Architecture are taught in Italian. The certification is mandatory also in case exchange students want to attend classes in English only.
A B2 level of English is strongly recommended to successfully attend the classes of our ICAD Master program and some of the thematic seminars, which are taught in English,
Once in Florence, exchange students can attend an Italian language course for free at Centro Linguistico di Ateneo - CLA. Registration is required. Please note that the Italian Language Course is not an academic exam and it does not provide ECTS credits or marks, so it cannot be added to your Learning Agreement and it will not be certified in your final official Transcript of Records.
